Hi! I'm Ahreum.
I am a postdoctoral researcher under Dr. Roman Bednarik at the University of Eastern Finland. I am currently exploring and understanding how new technologies would reconfigure the interaction between surgical teams in the operating room and what factors cause the surgical team's stress and tensions during surgical procedures (pre/intra/post-operative phases).
Before I joined the UEF, I worked as an interdisciplinary postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Dr. Austin Toombs , Dr. Colin Gray , and Dr. Byung-Cheol Min at Purdue University. At Purdue University, I explored the social value of communities in co-spaces (e.g., co-living, co-working, co-housing spaces) and how technologies (i.e., robots) can be designed to better support the experience of communities and build interpersonal relationships in the co-spaces.
I earned my PhD and a B.A degree in Industrial Engineering from Hanyang University.
